I remember feeling stuck with my health in my 30s.

It was mid-December. And I was sitting on the couch scrolling mindlessly on my phone.

The holidays were in full swing, and I was doing what many people do this time of year:

Coasting.

I caught myself thinking, "I’ll start fresh in January. No point trying now, with all the holiday parties and travel coming up."

But then I remembered something a mentor once told me:

“If you’re waiting for the perfect time, you’ll be waiting forever.”

That hit me like a ton of bricks. I realized that by waiting for the New Year, I was just giving myself permission to keep procrastinating.

I wasn’t stuck because of the holidays or my busy schedule—I was stuck because I was letting excuses win.

So, I decided to make a change.

Not on January 1st.

Not on Monday.

I decided to change that day.

It wasn’t a grand gesture. I didn’t throw out all the holiday treats or sign up for an intense workout program. I simply committed to drinking more water, going for a walk, and swapping my usual takeout dinner for something healthier.

Those small actions snowballed. By the time January rolled around, I was already feeling better—more energetic, more confident, and more in control of my life. Starting “messy” didn’t matter. What mattered was starting.

That experience taught me an invaluable lesson...

You don’t need a perfect plan or a perfect moment to start. You just need to act.

So, as you sit here reading this, I’ll ask you:

1- 7 Mistakes to Avoid When Building Muscle Over 40

The biggest mistake I see men over 40 make with building muscle: they don’t track their workouts to ensure progressive overload is happening.

Here’s the deal...

As we age, building muscle becomes more challenging due to aging and slower recovery. That’s why it’s even more critical to train smart—not just hard.

Progressive overload means gradually increasing the stress placed on your muscles over time, whether by adding weight, reps, or improving form. Without tracking your workouts, you’re flying blind.

The fix?

Keep a log of your exercises, weights, and reps. Each week, aim to improve—just a little.
